knitting meemster: a new hope

I finally, finally finished Teva Durham's Tartan Jacket. Changed the collar and didn't add the cuffs. It only wrung from me sweat and tears, not blood, but it felt like it. Definitely the hardest thing I've ever knit. I'm not going to be knitting any more plaid anytime soon.

Plaid.

*shudder*

I also finished Teva's Lace Leaf Pullover, which was a pleasure to knit. What a cool design! The hardest part was grafting the top and bottom pieces together. I managed to make it look OK in the front at least.

You're so impressive

Once again, you've put me to shame. I had to completely frog what I had completed on my cardigan last night... Couldn't figure out how I seemed to be losing stitches, and couldn't figure out how to get all the stitches back onto the needle after I'd frogged back to the ribbing. Oh well...

Loving the lace-leaf pullover. That color is phenomenal.

BTW, I sent my Mom the link to your blog... she loves to look at knitting pictures.

amazing! you are really inspiring me to buy that book (I'm trying not to because I have to do my stash-clearing autumn birthdays and xmas presents first...) maybe I'll ration myself and wait to ask santa for it.

Wow!

Great Job! (found you through Fig and Plum). I wanted to do that Tartan Jacket since I saw it and gasped when it said intarsia! Maybe I'll give it a try. Did you use Lamb's Pride?

Re: Wow!

Yes, I used Lamb's Pride Bulky. Good luck! It's really hard but really worth it too!

Love the tartan jacket! I'm *still* working on one too, also used Lamb's Pride, but different colors. I notice you made some mods to yours, the only thing I'm doing differently is making the sleeves a bit wider at the bottom. I was finished with it and had started seaming it, but the sleeves were way too tight at the cuffs!

hey there. someone else here who found you thru fig&plum. those sweaters are both gorgeous, you are amazing! congratulations. i wanted to ask you what yarn you were using for the lace leaf pullover, due to the highly illusive nature of the yarn teva used. unless you were able to find it! i put loop-d-loop on hold at the library about two months ago and i think its finally come in! yay. ok, well, nice work, lady. xo.

Thanks! I used KnitPick's Andean Treasure double-stranded and size 11 needles. The gauge was off, so I followed the instructions for the large size (I'm usually a small).
